Wat ik me onlangs afvroeg; Hoe zit eigenlijk met best practices bij het beheren van zo’n LLM en wat zijn de meest voorkomende aanvallen die kunnen gebeuren.

OWASP (The Open Worldwide Application Security Project) heeft onlangs (een maand of drie geleden) z’n 1.1.0 versie uitgebracht.

Ik kan me voorstellen dat LLMs een deur kunnen openzetten tot het stelen van gevoelige data.

Underselling het AI-nieuws van de week.

Mistral moest het Europese antwoord op OpenAI worden, maar ze lijken nu al (minder dan een jaar na oprichting) een deel van hun ziel aan Big Tech te verkopen. Hun laatste model, [Mistral Large](https://mistral.ai/news/mistral-large/) dat als rechtstreekse concurrent voor GPT-4 wordt vermarkt, is ook niet langer open en enkel toegankelijk via een API.

Geen onlogische plaats om de AI in de zoekbalk van hun apps te zetten.  
Maar opnieuw, van alle AI’s, vertrouw ik Meta het minste van allemaal met wat ik zal vragen…

Net eens Meta AI getest op een VRT NWS artikel via Ray Ban Meta. Lijkt alvast goed Nederlandse tekst te kunnen interpreteren. Alle commands enkel beschikbaar in Engels momenteel. Werkt alleszins heel snel, geen 10 seconden zoals je bij de AI pin zag in de review.

Ik heb een goede deal gedaan (250 euro) op eBay, een model met ‘transition glasses’. Dus volledig transparant als je binnen bent, en donkere glazen bij UV licht automatisch.

Het is écht wel een goed product. Gewoon eigenlijk al als ‘oortjes’, minstens zelfde kwaliteit als Shokz oortjes. Anderen naast jou horen het niet, tenzij ze heel erg dichtbij staan.

Heel erg goede microfoon setup. En de camera is eigenlijk ook erg goed voor de grootte dat het maar heeft. Binnenkort ook te gebruiken in Whatsapp videocalls. Sinds kort kan je ook Apple Music of Spotify koppelen en ook gewoon vragen om iets af te spelen, zonder Siri.

Het is een no-brainer voor op vakanties eigenlijk of voor in het weekend, zeker als je kinderen hebt om snel even een foto of video te nemen zonder je iPhone boven te halen.

Voor het rest is het gewoon geen opzichtige gadget. Niemand heeft quasi door dat het geen gewone zonnebril is.  
Privacy aspect komt dan ook naar boven uiteraard. Maar de LED die altijd aanstaat als je een foto neemt of filmt is heel erg helder. Ga je dus sowieso niet echt in publieke situaties doen.

In België werkt de AI functie sinds deze week ook gewoon. Wel even een VPN opzetten met een US server om de functionaliteit te triggeren. Nadien blijft het werken zonder VPN. Alle andere functionaliteit werkte gewoon al zonder problemen.

Het is de AI pin in de ideale form factor. Als Meta er in slaagt om iets met een scherm of projectie in de glazen te doen, wordt dit ‘spacial computing’ die bruikbaar is in de echte wereld buiten. (In tegenstelling tot de Quest of Apple Vision Pro dat toch maar een eenzame thuiservaring is voor gaming of thuisbioscoop momenteel)

Doet mij eigenlijk een beetje hopen dat Apple ook eerder deze form factor zou onderzoeken. Zou ook wel steek houden voor hen als wearable.
